Angel Ashley O’Hara, a spirited soul known for her fierce presence and unforgettable nature, passed away on May 22, 2026. Born on August 11, 1984, Angel lived a life marked by strength, loyalty, and a love that deeply touched those around her.
A graduate of West Scranton High School, Angel continued her education at Lackawanna College, where she earned an associate degree, before receiving her bachelor’s degree from The University of Tampa. She worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a representative.
Angel’s free spirit was fondly remembered by a close friend who shared, “There are people who leave a mark on your life that time and distance never erase, and Angel was one of them. She was fierce, unforgettable, and had a presence that could never be ignored.” Her friendships spanned decades, from childhood gymnastics classes to high school adventures and beyond, filled with memories of laughter, chaos, loyalty, and enduring affection. Angel was a safe place for many of her friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her father, John O’Hara; her grandparents, Frank and Frances Rasieleski; and her grandmother, Kay O’Hara.
Angel is survived by her mother, Lori Ann Rasieleski Bowen of Scranton; her beloved “second mom,” Brenda Roque; her brother, Jordan Bowen of Ashley; her uncles, Mark Rasieleski and Michael O’Hara; her aunts, Lynn Rutsky, Patty Sheare and Penny Eibach; nieces and nephews; and Emily Kuchwara, whom Angel loved as a daughter.
Angel’s memory will remain a guiding light to those who knew and loved her — a reminder of a wild and loving heart, and the lasting impact one life can have on so many others. Though her time here was far too short, those who loved her will carry her spirit forward, forever changed by her presence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Angel’s memory to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Township, PA 18411.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a prayer service officiated by Reverend Ginger Daubenhauser beginning at 7:30 p.m., at the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Interment will be private.
