Barbara Samuel, 67 of West Scranton, died Thursday in Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband of 47 years is Albert Samuel. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of Nancy Carra Brink of Dunmore and the late Cecil Brink. A 1966 graduate of Dunmore High School, she was a secretary for the former St. John the Baptist Church and retired from St. Patrick's Parish in West Scranton. Barbara was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and the Ladies Auxilliary of the Knights of Columbus Council 13025 at St. Patrick's. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, daughter, as well as being a grandmother who cherished her grandchildren and was a friend to many. She is also survived by two sons, A.J. Samuel and wife Renee, Scranton, Chuck Samuel and wife Beckie, Scranton, three daughters, Brenda Antosh and husband Joseph, Roaring Brook Twp., Sandra Newhart, Scranton, Jennifer Finnerty and husband Matthew, Scranton, five grandchildren, Brian and Tyler Newhart, Samantha and Joey Antosh, Vincent Samuel, one sister, Judy Craig, Dunmore, one uncle, Joseph Carra, nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be on Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 am in St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton. Viewing for family and friends will be on Monday, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
