A Catholic Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 pm in the funeral home by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton.
Eugene M. Conforti, 78, of the Keyser Valley section of West Scranton, passed away on Saturday morning after a lengthy illness with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife Sharon R. Conforti. On March 28th they celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Alfred and Margaret Conforti and stepmother Rosella Conforti. Eugene was a member of the former Church of the Holy Cross, educated in West Scranton High School and employed as a tree surgeon for Jaflo and retired from Asplundh Tree Service. Eugene was also a member of the Teamsters Union and the American Ukrainian Veterans of Lackawanna County.
Along with Sharon, he is survived by his loving son Matthew Conforti and wife Melinda, Scranton, Granddaughter Juliette who held an exceptionally special place in his heart, 2 sisters, Barbara Nolan, CT, Peggy Thys, NJ, 3 brothers, Jerry Conforti and wife Marga, Taylor, Vince Conforti and wife Caryl, Scranton, John Conforti and wife Roseann, Scranton, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, stepmother, 2 brothers, Al and William Conforti, sisters in law, Sandra and Patricia Conforti. His family would like to extend its gratitude to Dr. Eric Smith and Dr. Thomas Churilla for their years of care and compassion for both Eugene and his family.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, April 9th , 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. A Catholic Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 pm in the funeral home by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton. Interment will be private.
