Hazel C. Humphrey, 104 years young, passed at the home of her granddaughter Denise in West Scranton. She was the wife of the late Llewellyn Humphrey. Born in Nanticoke, PA, she is the daughter of the late James and Dinah Harvey Thompson. Educated in Scranton Schools, Hazel was a stay at home mom, nurturing the needs of her family and assisting in raising of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and worked at the Supreme Laundry counter until she was 93 years old. She is survived by two sons, Edward Humphrey and wife Catherine, Scranton, and Llewellyn Humphrey, Leesburg, FL, seven grandchildren, Denise Bombar (Michael), Lew Humphrey, Nina Humphrey, Edward Humphrey, Michael Humphrey (Jolanta),  Cathy Howlette, Edward T. Humphrey (Sarah), six great grandchildren; Amanda Marino (Michael), Alexander Humphrey, Zophia Humphrey, Natalie Humphrey, Anna Howlette, Joseph Howlette, two great-great grandchildren, Nico Marino, Adeline Marino, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Charlotte Surenko, 3 grandchildren; Lisa Surenko, Mary Humphrey, Ann Humphrey and six siblings. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for their care, kindness and support. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Scranton.
