Obituary

James M. McGraw, 81, of West Scranton, passed at home on Monday, with his family at his side. Husband of Mildred Linko McGraw for 58 years, born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Jean Watson McGraw. Jimmy was a graduate of West Scranton High School, he worked at The Scranton Times for 17 years and later retired from Panel Prints. He served in the United States Army and was a member of St. Patrick's Parish.  James enjoyed building and working on projects together with his two sons. He was an avid bowler, golfer and he loved reading daily, especially Jack Reacher.  A dedicated father and husband, he also loved the many dogs he had over his lifetime.

James is survived by his wife Mildred, three daughters; Jean Marie McGraw, Marianne Morrissey and husband John, Kathleen Sheedy and husband John, two sons; Patrick McGraw and wife Sue, and James McGraw, 11 grandchildren Erica, Liza, Ashley, Hope, Colleen, Nicholas, Ryan, Morgan, Andrew, Anna and Molly, two great grandchildren, Emily and Kyle, one sister, Marion Iacavazzi and husband Cosmo, and a special niece and caregiver, Noreen Thomas. Jimmy was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Woodring and a brother, William McGraw.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 am in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street, Scranton by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Allied Services Hospice.
