Obituary

Jewel M. Petroziello, 83, of Scranton, formerly of Dunmore, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Geisinger CMC, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Eleanor Blasko Petroziello. A graduate of Scranton Central High School, Jewel worked as a seamstress for Gold Star and Mayflower. Of the Catholic faith, she served for many years as a Girl Scout leader. She cherished time with her family, never missing a family gathering, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Her brother David was her devoted caretaker for many years, always ensuring she had everything she needed and accompanying her wherever she needed to go.

Surviving are her sisters, Joan Perry, Dolores Clark and Ann Marie Willis; brothers, Alfonso Petroziello and wife Cheryl, and David Petroziello and wife Michelle; along with nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Vincent, Ronald and Joseph Petroziello; and sister, Teresa Ann Read.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Saint John Paul II Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 208 Smith St., Dunmore, with interment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 262 Railroad Ave., West Scranton.
