Joyce Ann Slimak, 69 of Throop, passed at home, with her loved ones at her side. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Florence F. Rutkosky. Joyce was a graduate of Mid-Valley High School.

She is survived by three daughters, Melissa Grzenda, TX, Jennifer Marcinkevich Stein, Throop, Crystal Marcinkevich, NC, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Jacqueline Myrkalo, Scranton, 2 brothers, Edward Rutkosky, Dickson City, Ronald Rutkosky, Dickson City, nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, husband, Alfred, son Jamie Marcinkevich, grandson, Tyler Marcinkevich, sister. Sharon Rutkosky, nephew, Ronney Rutkosky and nephew, Richard Myrkalo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, at 10 am by Msgr. Patrick Pratico, at St. Mary of The Blessed Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment will be private. Arrangements by the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Scranton.
