Marilyn Smar, 72, of Old Forge, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday night at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband of 43 years, Richard "Richie" Smar, died in July of 2013. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Millie Driebe Abraham. A 1961 graduate of West Scranton High School, she was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge and worked as a teller for the Third National Bank and retired from the Old Forge Bank. She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Copeland, Philadelphia, one sister, Ann Sica, Old Forge, one niece, Carol Sica, Moosic, one aunt, Josephine Michaels, Scranton, several cousins. Services will be held at 10 am on Friday, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, by the Rev. Fr. Joseph Cipriano. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 7 pm.
