Obituary

Pearl Wesneski, 81, of Scranton passed away peacefully on June 12 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Dunmore.  Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Holeda Nicoletto. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1960. Pearl was a Christian woman of strong faith. She was an avid animal lover and donated to many charities throughout her life, St. Jude's, Wounded Warriors, Griffin Pond and many more. Pearl grew up in the Tripp Park section of Scranton and enjoyed socializing with her family and neighbors. In her later years she made many new friends at Delaware Towers, Scranton, where she was a regular at Bingo and Pokeno. She was a longtime employee of the King Koil Company and was an appointed Notary Public. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Nicoletto, with whom she shared a special bond and missed immensely. Pearl loved all things beautiful, especially God's creatures, her favorite being cats, dogs and birds. She had a generous heart and will be remembered most for her generosity and kindness towards animals and people in need. May she rest in eternal peace and perhaps pass over that rainbow bridge on her way to heaven to greet her many animals that she loved and cared for throughout her life. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be in the funeral home on Friday,12 noon until time of Service at 1:30.
