Obituary

Richard M. Selemba, 68, of Roaring Brook Twp, formerly of West Scranton, passed on Monday evening at home, with his family at his side. Rich and his wife Kathryn Stelmak Selemba would have celebrated their 48 th wedding anniversary on July 10 th . Rich was born in Scranton to the late George C. and Julia Bobitka Selemba. He was a 1973 graduate of West Scranton High School and a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Scranton. Rich had been the co-owner of several downtown restaurants, JC Restaurant, JC Lunchbox and Trolley's and was a manager at Weis Markets up until his illness. Rich was an avid bowler and  baseball player. He was a PIAA umpire for high school baseball and Little League and Teener League. Rich's favorite pastime was following the local baseball players who advanced into the major and minor league teams.  He is also survived by his loving daughters, whom he treasured, Patricia Selemba Jones and husband Justin, Scranton; Marissa Selemba and fiancee, Mark Healey, Pittston; two grandsons, who absolutely adored their "Grampy," Xander Richard and Jaxon William Jones; his sister, Carol J. Selemba, Phoenix, AZ; brothers, George P. Selemba and wife Sharon, Dunmore; Robert Selemba and wife Rita, Old Forge; mother-in-law, Jean Cibik, Roaring Brook Township; brother in-law, John Stelmak and wife Georgia, Scranton; sister and brother in-law, Jeanmarie  King and husband, Bernard,  Eagleville, PA; best friend, Bob Fahey, one nephew and several nieces, several aunts and cousins. With special gratitude to Amy and Christina of Traditional Home Health Care for their exceptional care. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, 4 to 6 pm with services to follow at 6 pm, Officiated  by Fr. Earl Tragar, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 232 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, 4 to 6 pm with services to follow at 6 pm, Officiated  by Fr. Earl Tragar, in the Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 232 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503.
