Rita A. Sniegowski, 85, of West Scranton, passed on Wednesday night at Geisinger/CMC. Her husband is Joseph Sniegowski Jr. and the couple would have celebrated their 65 ^th wedding anniversary on November 3 ^rd . Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late Stanley and Veronica Shygelski. Rita was a 1954 graduate of West Scranton High School and Keystone Beauty School. Rita was a self-employed beautician/hairdresser, and a member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, West Locust Street, Scranton. She is survived by her husband Joseph, sisters; Carol Maros, Minooka, Julieanne Samsell and Joseph, Moscow, Joyce Race, Vestal, NY, sister in law, Julie Hill, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Marlene Shygelski and brothers; John and James Shygelski. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am by Rev. Sam J. Ferretti: Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday, 3 to 6 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
