Obituary

Robert James Bohr, 84, of Newton-Ransom, passed on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the Green Ridge Health Care Center after an extended illness. He is now where he has wanted to be for the last 5 years, with his beloved wife of 60 years, Carol, who preceded him in death and their dog, Domino. Born in Falls Township, to the late Jacob and Charlotte Bohr, he was a graduate of Falls-Overfield High School. He was husband to the late Carol Kucenski Bohr. Bob worked as a self employed contractor and woodworker, turning everything he touched into a masterpiece. He once said, “I never worked a day in my life, because I loved what I did!” He was also part owner of The Ski Place in “Newton”, in the 80s and 90s, and later in life spent much of his time at his son’s and daughter-in-law’s store, The Ski Corner in Dickson City, helping as a back room tech and goodwill ambassador to customers and employees. He is survived by 2 sons, Rob Bohr, Michael Bohr, a grandson, Christopher Bohr, a daughter-in-law Lori Bohr, 3 sisters, Diane Jean and Charlotte, 2 brothers, Chucky and Jake, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Al, George and Willard Bohr, There are no services scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
