Robert J. Herne, 57, of West Scranton, passed on Tuesday, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born in Scranton, he is the son of the late Willard and Regina Herne. Bob was a 1982 graduate of West Scranton High School, and was a US Postal Service letter carrier for the Dunmore Post Office. He is survived by two daughters, Christina Herne, Olyphant and Stephanie Herne and companion William Belcher, Scranton, a sister, Regina Florovito and husband Scott, Old Forge, four brothers, Joseph Herne, Donald Herne, Philip Herne and wife Jean, all of Scranton and Gene Herne and wife Amy, Pittsburgh, two granddaughters, Layla and Autumn, a nephew and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, infant twin brother Ronald and Willard Herne Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 2 to 4 pm, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. The family requests that masks be worn during calling hours. Inurnment will be private.
