Obituary

Rose M. Bandru, 93, passed on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Dunmore Health Care Center. Her loving and devoted husband of 67 years is Edward Bandru. Born in Wetzlar, Germany she is the daughter of the late Jacob and Andrea Uhl. Educated in Wetzlar Germany schools, she was of the Protestant faith and was a devoted homemaker and wife to her husband while he was in the Army as a career soldier, serving around the world. When Ed retired from the Army, Ed and Rose returned to Scranton and finally settled in the Keyser Valley section of West Scranton. Rose and Ed had no children or surviving siblings, however, they raised two girls, Beverly Kura and the late Diane Billets, after the death of their biological mother. Services will be held on Wednesday, at 10 am officiated by the Rev. Elliot Cooke, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Township. Viewing will be on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, 4 to 6 pm and on Wednesday, 9 am until time of Services.
