Theresa M. Williams, 88, of Scranton, died Saturday in the Jewish Home of Eastern PA. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Kozak Markanich. Educated in Scranton Technical High School, she was a lifelong member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, and had worked as a floor lady in the local garment industry. She is survived by one daughter, Terri Staples, Scranton, three grandchildren, Theresa Stewart and husband Tarique, Brian Yachera and fiancée Nicole Matthews, and Bobby Staples, one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Anna Gello, Betty Markanich, Margaret Kruttle, Jule Markanich and Helen Bitsko, two brothers, George and John Markanich. A Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10 am in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Broadway at 4 ^th Avenue, Scranton, by the Rev. Fr. Gary Mensinger. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton
